* * * Already the first published song of Druyd by Dubravko Lapaine and Igor Ratkovic "Misao iz daleka" has been recognized internationally as they reached finals of World of Music Awards 2009, worldwide world music award.
Druyd perfectly fits out of every musical genre you have ever heard. Not so much by its rather uncommon instrumentation based around didgeridoo, guitar and voice, but much more because of Druyd's way to create and perform music.
It is a way to make music from nothingness, in detailistic and groovy manner, applying no rules from beginning till the end, and dedicating uncountable days to do it. The result is a sound picture which is reminiscent to a fantasy elf forest - from small moss-sounds which moist the heavy grounds till the highest tree sounds which rip open the skies.
Druyd's music is very melodic, on every level, but it is utterly unpredictable. It fluently flows through uncountable time measures, timbre and colour changes, creates yet unheard sound-scales, but leaves open space to enjoy music with no thought.
Druyd's members came across each other in years 2007-2009 backed by years of separate successful musical careers. Due to the mutual devotion to same art, their work started and never stopped. In 2010 the band has been enlarged by one last member.

Dubravko Lapaine - Du, a didgeridoo player who cannot be described as a didgeridoo player, but rather as a man who explores cosmos through tubes without lenses. Within almost ten year long history of researching the depths of didgeridoo and playing in front of international audiences, Du has developed his own amazingly different technique of playing. Igor Ratkovic – Yr, a guitar player who cannot be described as a guitar player, but rather as a man whose imagination dwells deeply in the world of strings, and is expressed with no other intention than being expressed. With even longer musical background in one of the most famous Croatian rock bands (Pips, Chips & Video clips), he has established his presence by winning the most prominent Croatian music award “Porin”. At this moment, he is present in Druyd as co-composer behind scenes. In future moments, we plan to see him on stage too.
Ivan Uravic - Ur, guitar player and composer - Druyd's super-clock of no-time ticking the space mechanisams underneath all structures.
Mary Crnkovic Pilas - BlackMary , a singer who is much more an expressionist of the outer voice, as a long-time Werbeck free singing practitioner, a sheer medium for perfect voice materialization. BlackMary is The Voice of Druyd.
