Fantastic concert in Italy happened... - July 13, 2010
We don't know if this is due to the Italian pasta or maybe the ice-cream that blew Du's mind or perfect superman Magro behind the mixer or great receptible audience... but anyway...
it happened!
And we are really ecstatic to be able present you the videos from the concert thanks to Mr Demiranis who filmed the whole show and uploaded it within 24 hours. So this is for you almost live from Italy...
Magic wood:
Valso de sufokato:
Desert Stinkyroom:
And as last Featherdust:
Hope you enjoyed.
See you soon somewhere unknown and magical...

Druyd summer tour 2010 revealed - June 28, 2010
Let us tell you about some interesting things that have been happening lately. And many cool things did happen recently! As you all know, our new album DRONAS is out -- woohooo!!! :-DD And we can happily present it here: druyd.bandcamp.com/album/dronas. On Tuesday we threw a kickass Dronas listening party at Medika centre in Zagreb! The sound system was provided by our friends from the Radikal Dub Kolektiv, and jeezzz did those bass and sub fequencies feel good... We had a great time and fully enjoyed ourselves, and thanks to everyone for attending and hanging out with us!
Druyd is also preparing for our summer tour right now. We are starting off in Spain at the Ibort didgeridoo festival (link here), then continuing to the huge Lent festival in Maribor (link to festival site), and then at the sweet sweet Didjinoz festival in Italy (link here)! After that Du is also performing at the Isle of White festival in the UK. We are now extra equipped and prepared to gig all over the place since this summer we will be using an even more tour-friendly magic bus, aka Da&Du's van. So far it took us on a couple of smooth rides to France and all over Croatia, and we have to admit, it is a comfy, roomy, roamy machine. Then we also introduced a couple of new guitars in the band instrument setup, the pretty little beasts Ur would probably love to write a couple of post about alone.
Still, even if we did manage to briefly inform you about these current events, there's another, an even more current story to be told here. This is a somewhat strange and beautiful story that quite unexpectedly fell off from a huge tree and dropped straight in our heads. Quite litteraly, believe us. This tree was a special one that grows only stories, and once they're ripe, they fall off and you can make a tea and serve them with tea. So, we had an idea we'd like to suggest which you might like! If you have some tea in one of your cupboards right now, this would be a good time to go on and put on a pot of water, and go ahead and make some tea. Then it would be our honour if you'd decide to join us for some tea and a special story. The following three dots represent you making the tea, and then the story will begin.

Interview with Druyd about... - June 8, 2010

Watch for yourself:
"Set the sails towards the bright horizon" -- the adventure of Dronas - May 10, 2010
It was a rigorous journey, one that we will remember.
Waves as high as mighty oak trees, our bow endured...
Cold winds ravaged, our men relentlessly sailed,
some even reluctantly turned to near isles for protection.
When the sextant broke during a storm,
seagulls started calling up in the skies as our guides.
And we're here now, returned from distant strange lands and kingdoms far away with gold and riches !! And we're almost ready to share it with you...
The CD is now nearly complete... ! Yeeeeyy !!!
("Dronas" by Druyd coming out in June 2010)
Hello to the free wild human beasts of the planet! - March 11, 2010
DRUYD,
the mighty
three-headed monster,
started recording the new album.
Ahm, the first album. If we don't count those two songs from the old guy Kosmopterix.
So 9 songs need to be born in this sound reality. And you can imagine it's not an easy task to spit out 9 three-headed monster babies all within one month period. Of utmost importance is, off course, the monster milk.
But it IS fun. Du and Yr are in their stupidiotic moods. Mistakes, mistakes and laughter. We will share with you some future recorded amusing moments just for enjoyment. What else is there anyway?
So please, keep your thumbs up!
And your ears open.
In the next few days,
in the misty peaceful dawns
when the world is silent and alert,
maybe you can hear some of the freely roaming Druyd notes in the air...
TUNE IN to the moon - February 25, 2010
Today is the day of the magic wood!
Nice people of FM102x Radio have chosen this 25th day of February to feature our song about possible magicalities in the woods in their program. So it is at these times for your and our pleasure being played a lot.
If you want, hop by and say hi. To the magical forest of course. Where the moon and sun dance the dance of faboulous shadows. If you are just a little patient they will show it to you here: http://www.live365.com/stations/fm102x
Concert review from Krško - February 2, 2010
For all of you who could not come to the last show, which accidentally landed in Kulturni dom Krško, we can gladly present the cool review as a teaser for you ;-)
As is now absolutely clear, our shows are number one hit among all the passionate universe-jumpers and star-divers! And maybe some other still undiscovered hyper-extreme impossible sports.
Peek into the past - our last show video! - January 23, 2010
Here is a perfectly fine concert movie from our show at Kset a few days ago. With a small interview with Du which happened after the performance.
It was all made by Transmeet TV - Croatian internet television. You can see, hear, smell (if you are fully creative) and taste some of our music in a friendly atmosphere from this famous student venue in Zagreb. The song you will hear is Space Christmas - this year's more-than-Christmas story by Druyd.

Woo-hoo Spacy Christmas to you! - December 17, 2009
In a world much, much bigger than ours
and so different that everything is almost the same,
one could hear silence and the roaring void.
It was dark and comfortable
as in Kosmos.
We are more than most happy that Space Chistmas story, another creature from the wonderful world of fantastic beings, is brought to life in this reality. If you are in search of exquisitely good energy, this is for you...
This year we had a brilliant insight that Christmas is nearing ;-) and we decided to give you a present. A present for joy. A present with joy.
So Du one evening discovered the first sentence that has been flying freely in the air of the studio, and with the BIGGEST smile he told us all: "Rinkel Finkel TinkelG Tondo, how would you like a glas of Mondo?"
And than the rest just poured out of him. And our new task was born, and that was to search for music. This was our first "film music assignment"! Yr was absolutely fantastic. He would sit on the FAT BOY sofa in the studio with the text in his hands and mysteriously create a musical plot out of it.
And than platicine! What better job to do would you ever want as an adult? Du and Danka spent their 10-ish days or so with their hands inside of this strange mass producing uncountable worms (that was the one thing they knew how to do from the childhood). And than with the help of some digital magic it all sat in place. And you can lean against this energy and rest. If you like it, we are happy. Space Santa is here!
More on this project coming soon...
Interview with Druyd in a Cave full of Juniors - December 13, 2009
On Junior's Cave online magazine main site from 13th to 19th of December there is a small greenish photo glued to the monitor with three druydical creatures smiling in it. There is a text over it that says Rising new artist of the week - DRUYD.
We are happy to say that these are us, not some mad clones or half-robot stunts. And after you click on the text CLICK ME under the photo you open the door to the palace of Druyd where you can wander through rooms of BlackMary's childhood, Yr's first guitar lessons, Du's no-obstacle phenomena, and in spooky dark corners here and there you will meet hyper positive, looney, innovative workaholics like yourself.
Druyd in unexpected corners of the planet - December 1, 2009
We did some good things. Beside from dealing with all the secret magicalities of the end of the year (which you will see/hear/touch soon, still in the month of December) Druyd got some radio fame these days! Two of our songs are being played on Pongid Radio - an American online station. You can check them out yourself at this stop!
And another small piece of sweet information with orange is that we had an interview for another US based online magazine called Junior's Cave and it will be at their web page sometimes soon. It will be our huuuuuge pleasure if you visit us there: go this way - and we rave together in the Cave.
Be with us to know
how will it all grow.
Last week was a busy one for Druyd people. - November 19, 2009
Three shows in four days. Not bad, huh?
Wednesday Du and I played at the opening ceremony of the Zagreb book fair and Zagreb Multimedia and music fair. It was an unusual experience since the audience was uncommon – politicians, directors, managers –mainly older people in suits and ties and I must say we were very pleased with the reception. On top of that there was a laser show during our performance which made it even more special. You can watch us doing Misao iz daleka.
On Thursday we were in Sax. And there is the most beautiful review of it by Horvi (in Croatian) at glas.ba blog. The show was quite nice if we ignore the standard issues that occur whenever we play clubs in Croatia. The smoke, which none of us loves is omnipresent since the government withdraw the law that prohibited smoking in all closed venues. And then the sound engineers that always seem to have problem with everything that is slightly out of ordinary. Du and I insist on condenser microphones due to their better responsiveness and higher resolution but that can turn into an epic struggle in which we sometimes win (both of us have condenser mics), sometimes it's a tie (one of us uses a condenser mic) and sometimes we just do not have the stamina and strength to fight an extremely mighty (read - stubborn) enemy. Our beloving Blackmary, however, doesn't have these kind of problems since she sounds wonderful even if you put a broom in front of her. That's our blessing – if we are not satisfied with the sound of didge and guitar just push Blackmary little more in the mix and voila - everything is fine! Saturday was again the Multimedia fair day, but this time we were in full line-up (including a tree) and with a full set list. There was no smoke, the sound engineer made us some decent monitoring and hence we felt more comfortable then in Sax. And yes, you guess right – we performed better.
Until next time
Stay well my friends, stay well...

Story of a song (I'll choke you till you live) - November 9, 2009
Few months ago I came in to Du's and Danka's apartment just to find them working on one of the didgeridoos. If (for some unknown reason) you don't know Du is not only a virtuoso didge player. He is also a famous builder, so if you want a great didge....Anyway, as I said they were in the middle of their work.
I stood and observed a picture somewhat unreal. They looked like they were strangling a strange wooden creature. What they really were doing is putting some clamps to join and fix two pieces of wood that would become a didgeridoo. As I watched them and their creature I felt a little bit sorry for it (didge I mean) looking so bound and mournful. It looked so captured and unfree. And then I realised - this was the only way to make didge alive.
You have to strangle it, suffocate it, choke it ....and in the end it becomes a real thing – beautiful and free.
This short story was an inspiration for a new Druyd song – ‘Valco de sufokato’ (Waltz of the suffocatee?). We’ve been working on it intensively for the last few days. We hope we'll finish it soon, and we hope you’ll like it, and you’ll start searching for beauty in all things, no matter how they look to you at first.
Stay well my friends, stay well...
Yr
Thanks to you it will be done - November 5, 2009
When I occasionally write Druyd's status on our MySpace site, I often write a poem or a limerick or something somewhat silly and frivolous. But when I look at the mood category, there is a word that time and again comes to mind. However, it rarely fits with what I have written in our status so I usually put “magical” or “well hung” or something similarly foolish instead of the word that I in actual fact want to put. And the word that I invariably want to write is quite simply, GRATEFUL. Because there are so many things that, despite the fact that other parts of my world are crumbling and decaying, Druyd has brought me for which I am more than grateful. What exactly is difficult to put into words. Perhaps the following image may best describe what I was before Druyd stepped into my life...
Imagine that you are a lonesome sailor voyaging on a shipwrecked boat. You've been sailing on this vestige of a ship for over 37 years and the whole while have been praying for the slightest trace of land to come into sight. You search in vain, ever looking through your spyglass, sometimes believing that a vista was on the horizon, only to find that it was a mirage, a figment of your imagination. And so you journey on, hoping, that one day, surely, an island will come into view. Years pass without any trace of an island or any land. When all of a sudden, out of the blue, literally, you see a fragment of land in your spyglass. At first, you hesitate, thinking, this is just another figment of my imagination, another mirage. But the land beckons you to draw closer and closer until you realize that no, it is not a figment of your imagination, it is land, real land in sight. And as you draw closer still, paddling with all your might and main, the land you see is beyond anything you ever expected. For this is not just any type of land, this is a whole universe waiting to be discovered, a universe so beautiful no painter could paint nor writer could write about. This is the stuff of dreams, of your most secret and deepest desires, of everything you ever imagined but dare not speak to others of. In a word, this is it.
And that to me is what Druyd is – it. Something indescribable that has helped me get off that vestige of a ship and step into a wonderful universe. I hope you too find your wonderful universe, if you haven't already. May it too make all your dreams and secret desires come true.

WIND IS IN THE AIR ! ! ! - November 2, 2009
Ok. Here it came - with the strong current of the tempest, on the wings of a breeze, in the river of the air flow... the new song! Unwinding the Wind.
For all of us who need some powerfull didgeridoo beats. And some more of the high notes of BlackMary's cosmic voice :-)
We were recording for three days in the studio with master Nixsho of Kramasonik overlooking the small people of Druyd. Everything was recorded live in a good old fashioned way. And if you stick to the end you will be surprised by some of Mr Yr's masterstrokes on his dancing guitar...
As someone once said "They are hammering as if shodding satan."
Listen to UNWINDING THE WIND now over on the MUSIC part of this page, or on our MySpace Page
AND... you are more than welcome to download it freely and happily by visiting our Reverbnation pageHERE. Than you can enjoy stormy weather in any climate!
Enter the Magic Wood - October 27, 2009
... if you love the smell of golden leaves
... if you are into dancing trees
This is our second video in the same old place - Kramasonik Studio. Enjoying some music before the winter. We hope you like it. We hope it's a good signpost for the Magic Wood. We hope you find it. It's a little scary and unexplored. But it's even more magnificently alive.
And you are absolutely invited to visit the Desert Stinkyroom somewhere down there in the gray abyss of this page...
Be well. Be here. Wherever you are.
Picture this! - October 16, 2009
There's a proverb that says that a picture is worth a thousand words (by the way, it's not Chinese as many people believe). Hmm, only a thousand? I think some are worth much more than that. Like the pictures of Magritte and Chagall, which I could rave on and on about, they being two of my favourite artists. Or images of my loved ones, especially of my kids when they were very small or of people that have now passed away. Or photos I've taken on holidays that I wished would never end. Yes, they are certainly pictures that to me are worth so much more than a mere thousand words.
And so are the band pictures that we recently took. Now, I have to admit, I hate having my photo taken or looking at myself. I was particularly bad in my youth when I quite simply could not even look at myself in the mirror, heaven forbid have my photo taken. Not so much nowadays, but nonetheless, I am still not that partial to it all. So you can imagine how I felt when we decided that we needed to have some band photos taken. But you know what? They didn't turn out as bad as I had imagined - unless you omit Du's making faces all the time. But that was what made the whole day fun and the pictures turn out better than I had expected – the five of us, just mucking up, being silly and goofy and having a blast. Yes, those pictures are most certainly worth more than a thousand words – wouldn't you agree?
See ya soon,

A great nose is the banner of a great man (Cyrano de Bergerac) - October 14, 2009
The nose. A highly underrated part of the human anatomy. Most people think of it as a silly lump protruding from their face. But it is so, so much more. Did you know that dogs use their wet noses to perceive direction? Or that the nose "conditions" the air by warming and/or humidifying it, before it enters the lungs? And that the human tongue can distinguish only among five distinct qualities of taste, while the nose can distinguish among hundreds of substances, even in minute quantities? Amazing to think what it can do.
But besides all the qualities that this seemingly irrelevant protrubance on our face has, I've come to realize that it has one very, very important function for me – without it, I can't bloody well sing a note, even to save my life. See, I've had one of the worst colds I can ever remember recently and it has now gotten to the stage where my nose feels as clogged up as a Dutch girl's feet. The boys laugh when I sing – I sound like Bob Dylan or Willie Nelson which is not quite appropriate for songs like "Magic Wood". Unless there's been a huge downpour and the whole wood is blocked up with water. Which it hasn't. No, not the way I want to sound at all.
So I've taken a leaf out of The Chemical Brothers' book and have taken to sniffing. No, not the stuff you think. I'm now sniffing nose sprays and within minutes I feel the difference. It's not BlackMary Nelson. It's not BlackMary Dylan. It's BlackMary Mary. I can sing again! Even the high C's! Hallelujah!
So yes, a great nose is the banner of a great man – and singer, believe me...

New and first video of Druyd in action - October 13, 2009
Video was shot @ Kramasonik studio a few days ago, during one of many September's rehearsals. The whole band is sick, BlackMary's scarf is not for show, not for fashion. And our rehearsals still go on, everydays and everynights in our druydical lives. You will be able to see some more proof of that soon around here. Play this video to visit places in our songs.
A stinky room transmuted through different senses and consciousness shift into vast waving sand clouds.
In a faraway desert, the singing woman on the dune only seems to be alone.
Wind is everpresent.
Measuring wind with didgeridoo sounds and guitar beats - October 10, 2009
Du and Yr asked me a somewhat unusual question a couple of weeks ago. "Dear Miss BlackMary, could you measure the wind for us? We've measured it already but we need you to measure it too". Hmmmm, I thought, measure the wind, how do I do that? Do I do it with a tape measure like I measure myself when I make my own clothes? But is there a tape measure long enough because the wind is infinite and has no beginning or end? No, I surely can't measure it with a tape measure. How about a clock, to measure how long it lasts? But the wind never stops blowing so how could I measure eternity?
Man, this is really tricky, measuring the wind. So I went on the internet to see if that would help. I found that the wind can be measured using weather vanes, wind socks, anemometers, ultrasound signals, pitot tubes and other strange contraptions. But still that didn't help. Give me a clue guys, I said, how do I measure the wind, I'm at my wit's end, I can't figure it out! And then they started playing a new composition they were working on, "The length of the wind". And it all fit into place. Ahaaaaa, that's how you measure the wind – with a didge, a guitar and a voice. How silly of me not to think of that!
Keep in touch,
BlackMary
Druydical tree was born - October 7, 2009
We have a new logo that is growing, living, loving! Druyd tree with 3 fruits of Du, Yr and Blackmary - and a star above called Niksh.

We caught a fourth member in the forest - July 5, 2009
I will just nonchalantly mention things that happened even before the summer happened to all of us. Druyd managed to catch a fourth member and is now complete in the terms of noncompleteness. (If you don't understand this, everything is fine). You might remember this creature from Soundlab project, and also from recording Kosmopterix, the outfamous Sir Nixho of Kramasonik. So I know it is hard to reach the possibilities by imagination sometimes, so you can hear a pre-hear of it, an excerpt from a song named Magic Wood. Recorded live from rehearsal in Kramasonik. Fresh as vacuum freshner.
